Pierce County Public Heakth
Pierce County Public Health is a Level III Health Department founded in 1943 and accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) in March 2015 and re-accredited in 2021.
Our mission is to promote, protect and improve the lifelong health of individuals and communities in Pierce County through the effective use of data and evidence, community-driven prevention strategies, leadership, advocacy, partnerships, and the promotion of health equity. We fulfill this mission via involvement in numerous community collaborations and coalitions, along with organizational programming in maternal and child health, communicable diseases, environmental health, chronic disease and injury prevention, and access to care.
